One Pet City supplier, Brandi Cheney, is currently being sued by dog owners who claim she sold them sick puppies raised in poor living conditions. One puppy developed seizures shortly after purchase, and another died of a debilitating virus.
Pet City provided us with the license numbers of some of their "breeders", which confirms that several of these facilities are on HSUS's list of the worst puppy mills in the country. Here is one article published on 10/21/10 which explains the lawsuit against Pet City supplier Brandi Cheney: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_7992/is_20101021/ai_n56133760/
Inspectors found underweight and injured dogs; rusted mesh flooring in cages that allowed puppies' feet to slip through the wire; and cattle medication being administered to dogs.
"I realize I'm not going to change people's minds who don't like dogs in cages, but I don't know any other way," she said. "That's got to be done if someone is going to breed more than just a couple dogs."
Brandi Cheney has over 120 dogs on her property, and has 500 pages of USDA violations against her.

I don't understand why they aren't arrested?
ReplyDeleteWell I just received an order of protection from brandi cheney because last month I took pictures of her puppy mill and turned her everything she wrote in this complaint was false and an out right lie I have many pictures of these poor dogs matted dirty the stench made my eyes water in 80 degree heat that had no cooling methods to there small wired cages. The press needs to step in and make this nationally known- help
ReplyDeleteI just started looking into this as I ran across my old paperwork for our puppy. I have a rather large bone to pick with Brandi. I would have NEVER bought from her had I known all of these things prior. After reading over dozens of articles today, everything has fallen into place. Worst part is she has kids. Great way to raise kids... I'm sure it's a fabulous environment for her kids to "play" with the dogs like she continues to claim. I have at least $7,000+ into our dog with misc medical issues. She is our life and we will continue to spend to make sure she lives a happy and healthy life. I am glad we were able to get her out of the disgusting place they call breeding grounds.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could post the pictures here
